What We Believe

The Bible is our authority for faith and practice. Our beliefs reflect our complete commitment and devotion to God's Word. We affirm the doctrinal confession of the Baptist Faith & Message.

The Bible

We believe the Bible is God’s inspired and inerrant Word given to humankind to serve as the authority and standard for both faith and life.

God

We believe that there is one true God and He reveals Himself in three persons; the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. God reigns sovereignly over the universe. He is holy and mighty.

Jesus

We believe that Jesus is the eternal Son of God who was born of a virgin, was fully God and fully man. He lived without sin, died as our substitute on the cross, was buried, and rose bodily from the grave. He ascended into heaven, where He is currently seated at the right hand of God the Father where He makes intercession for those who trust Him. One day He will literally return to earth.

Holy Spirit

We believe that the Holy Spirit is fully God, sent by the Father to convict unbelievers of their sin and need for salvation. He is living in every believer to enlighten, equip, encourage, and empower them to live the Christian life.

Man

We believe that man is the special creation of God, made in His image, originally created innocent of sin and possessing the freedom to make choices. However, through the temptation of Satan, man chose to disobey God’s command and became a sinner separated from God. This sin nature has been passed to all mankind, causing all men to be born as sinners, separated from God and in need of redemption.

Salvation

We believe that salvation is a gift from God made available through the shed blood of Jesus Christ to all who by faith accept Him as Lord and Savior.

Life after Death

We believe that all true believers are eternally secure and will go to heaven after death, and that unbelievers will spend eternity separated from God in hell.

Baptism

We believe that baptism is by immersion following salvation as an act of obedience to Christ.

The Church

We believe that the local church is a fellowship of baptized believers functioning under the Lordship of Christ, and that all Christians from all of history compose His Body with Christ as the Head.

Prayer

We believe that all believers can come boldly before the throne of God through the way made by the Son, Jesus Christ.

Family

We believe that the family is the first institution given by God and is the foundation for human society. It is composed of members joined together by marriage, blood, or adoption.

Marriage

We believe that marriage is the union of one man and one woman in a covenant commitment for a lifetime.
